You can have a drawer filled with sexy lingerie and La Perla underwear, but if you don’t have a good collection of comfortable and practical under garments – that fit you how it’s supposed to (85% of women wear the wrong bra size) – then my friend, you need to go get yourself measured and buy some – now! It’s amazing how much a properly fitted bra can do for you.
I love La Perla and go absolutely bananas when they have a sale (often on Gilt Groupe), but it would be unrealistic of me to say that I walk around wearing La Perla on a daily basis. Heck no! La Perla is gorgeous and incredibly well-made but it’s far, very far, from being the most practical and comfortable brand out there. Lacy bras are beautiful and fun, but they are almost never seamless.
For me, practical bras and underwear are often made of either cotton or nylon/spandex, and come in either white, beige, black or other neutral colors. Oh, and forget about fun, colorful patterns – as they can be seen thru any light-colored or sheer blouse.
But remember, these “comfortable” under garments are no longer plain & boring! Many are incredibly cute and come with small lace detailing that your significant other will adore!
Since we’re going to Dallas next month for my husband’s birthday, I’ve already begun putting together my little wish-list. When it comes to intimates, my favorite places to shop is Nordstrom (they have an amazing selection) and Gap Body (yes, Gap! They are super durable!).
Here’s what is currently on my list…
1. Miss Studio (a more affordable line by La Perla) “Daily Chic” Underwire Push-Up Bra and Panty 2. Natori “Understated T-Shirt Bra” (Love Natori!) |
3. Gap “Favorite Wireless Bra” 4. Gap “Favorite Lacy T-Shirt Bra” (LOVE) |
5. Make+Model Boyshorts (fun to sleep with!) 6. Hanky Panky Organic Cotton Thongs (a must-have) |
7. Commando “Tulip Lace-Trim Thong” (Commando makes some of the most seamless panties out there!) 8. Gap “Invisible Girl Shorts” 9. Felina “Aubrie Boy Leg Briefs“ |
